100 Days to a Wiser You Praise God for His wisdom that you are receiving
into your heart and mind. After three weeks of learning the Proverbs you are
having opportunities to live them and share them daily. I pray that this is
your richest week in the Proverbs thus far. God bless you and make you wise. |

What is condemned in this proverb?
Is it possible to be guilty of this without saying
anything? How?
Live it!
My young friend Matt introduced me to the
“5-minute” rule. The rule is that when you join a group of people having a
conversation, you don’t contribute to that conversation until you have listened
for 5 minutes. I think I’ve reduced it to the “2 minute” rule, but even at two
minutes it is a challenge to keep. Give it a try today!!
Share it!
Today when someone is listening to you, thank them,
thank them for the courtesy of being a good listener. Tell them that they are
modeling this proverb!

Look up these other Scriptures that refer to
hurting parents: Pr 19.26; 28.7; 29.15.
Live it!
Consider how your behavior impacts your family. Growing
up, did you bring shame to your parents through your behavior? Maybe a note to
your parents thanking them for bearing with you through the hard years would be
appropriate. Talk to your own kids about how their behavior and yours involves
the entire family, for good and for bad.
Share it!
List a couple of names here of parents you know
whose children are causing them pain. Pray for these families.

Look up and write the words “quarrelsome wife” next
to these other proverbs: 19.13; 21.19; 27.15
Live it!
Are you a quarrelsome wife? Not sure? Ask your
husband, ask a friend, but don’t quarrel with them if they tell you, you are
one. Confess your quarrelsome spirit to the Lord. Don’t make excuses, confess.
Quarrelsomeness is often a symptom of deeper issues. For you this may be a time
to seek out godly counsel. And by the way guys, read
Pr 26.21 and then ask yourself the same questions.
Share it!
Do you know a quarrelsome wife? Pray for her. Is
God prompting you to talk to her? Visit her house, use her bathroom and then
write out this proverb on her mirror with lipstick. (No, don’t do that last one
– probably not wise, but fun to consider!)

Who have you made financial commitments to? Whose
debts have you guaranteed? Are these wise commitments or do you need to work yourself out of these commitments? Are you over extending yourself
financially? Are you honoring the Lord with the first fruits of your income? Are
you letting your financial commitments get in the way of your obligations to
the Lord’s work? Pray about these questions.
Share it!

about your finances. Encourage someone who appears to be making bad financial
decisions with a Christian book on finances.
